Self-Assessment Tax Returns for Individuals
There are various reasons why HMRC may require you under law, to complete a tax return. The most common reasons being as follows:
- If you work for yourself and are Self-employed;
- If you are a partner in a partnership business;
- You are a company director and receive a pay from that company;
- You are a minister of religion in any faith or denomination;
- You are a trustee or the executor of an estate
- You have untaxed income such as Rental Income or Interest received gross.
- You have an annual income of over £100,000 or more before tax.

Limited Companies CT600
A Private Limited Company is required under the Companies Act to file accounts at Companies House annually even if the company is dormant. Once the accounts have been prepared, the company must file these accounts with HMRC in iXBRL format along with a company tax return known as CT600.
